BEAUTY THAT MATTERS: THE BEAUTY EDIT HONOR ROLL
This year’s list of winners is quite a deviation from our usual categories in beauty awards. In our quest to find the best, we were brought upon the realization that the most impressive products are the result of heeding a particular need of the moment, a reflection of culture, and a commitment to serve customers and improve lives. For The Beauty Edit Honor Roll 2022, we recognize these trendsetters and movers and shakers, including their standout products, from F-Beauty stars to innovations of the Old Guard.

Welcome to The Beauty Edit
Beauty, as seen throughout history, is a fundamental pleasure. Next to the basic needs of clothing, shelter, and food, cosmetics or skin decoration that enhance one's appearance—to empower oneself, denote a particular rank in society, attract the opposite sex, or just simply feel great—have been timeless concerns and cultural constants throughout the ages.
As with fashion, beauty is indispensably caught up with society’s way of life—changing, adapting to, and highlighting cultural practices—making it quite a good indicator of time. Perhaps more than products, this is why beauty has such transcendent charm. The Beauty Edit hopes to be part of this, capturing snippets of this ever-evolving world of beauty.
Beauty Is As Much About People As the Products They Use
Throughout the 20th century, television and print media were the beauty industry’s visual filters, channeling desires and narrowing preferences. Today, with the emergence of social media, it’s become the other way around, where readers and audiences are forces that influence trends, products, and content. This, all the more, highlights who truly holds the most importance: people. And this is how we try to produce content at The Beauty Edit—with our audience in mind.
We’ve collated some of the questions readers sent us and answered them here to help you get to know The Beauty Edit better.
To every woman who believes that one of the fundamental gratifications of the body is to celebrate and care for it, here is to you!
Before Anna Wintour at Vogue, there was Grace Mirabella, who once proclaimed decades ago something that will timelessly ring true: “The name of the game is taking care of yourself, because you're going to live long enough to wish you had.”
Here’s a look at how we create content and the beauty journalist behind The Beauty Edit.
