This dainty, powdery floral by Jo Malone London was part of the brand’s English Fields limited edition launched in 2018 and was relaunched a year later as a part of the brand’s permanent collection by popular demand.

Jo Malone London is one of the most creative brands in perfumery, known to regularly launch quintessentially English perfumes and feature unique olfactory scents and elements in every collection. It works with some of the world’s greatest noses to come up with fragrances inspired by the most special or the quirkiest things from rare teas to mornings at Covent Garden. This one in particular was from a collection inspired by cereals. Crisp, juicy black currant opens the fragrance before wheat, poppy, and powdery middle notes are apparent. The base notes are barley, bran, and white musk—the overall cereal tone.

Expert Tip: The great thing about Jo Malone London fragrances is that they are all made to layer perfectly with another fragrance. This makes fragrance creation more complicated but extra special for the brand, because every cologne needs to be “transparent” enough to work well in fragrance layering. Poppy & Barley can be layered with Wild Blue Bell or Wood Sage & Sea Salt for a fresher take or Honeysuckle & Davana to make it warmer.
