NUXE Creme Prodigieuse Boost Gel Cream

WHAT IT IS: In this day and age, getting just moisture from your moisturizer is no longer enough. Having stress, lack of sleep, and pollution wreaking havoc on our skin every day requires additional protection, which Nuxe’s Crème Prodigieuse Boost thankfully has covered. This gel-cream formula protects the skin with antioxidants derived from jasmine and calendula, neutralizing and repairing free radical damage. It also provides a boost from pure, biotech-derived cellular sugar to support the skin’s dwindling metabolism. In simpler terms, it’s designed to help you avoid premature stress wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, specifically between the high-activity ages of 25 to 39.

NICOLE’S NOTES: The Crème Prodigieuse Boost has a lovely gel-cream consistency that’s comfortable enough to be used day or night on my oily skin. I apply it mostly on the day though, since that’s when I’m most exposed to the stressors it aims to combat. Plus, I love the subtle glow it gives my skin without the unnecessary slick. In fact, the formula absorbs quite quickly, and it layers effortlessly underneath different sunscreens. For reference, I’ve tried it with both water-based and emollient, water-resistant sunscreens and never experienced any pilling.

That said, this product’s most prominent feature is definitely its scent. The whiff of jasmine is strong, but while it personally doesn’t offend me (it’s quite relaxing, actually), it might be a deal-breaker for some. I tend to avoid fragranced skincare as well for fear of irritation, although I’m lucky not to have had any adverse reactions for the two weeks I’ve been using this. In fact, I’ll continue slathering it on because a lightweight, antioxidant-rich moisturizer this good is rare, let alone one with a pump.

EXPERT TIP: Give yourself a face massage after putting it on—jasmine is known to calm the mind and body in aromatherapy. The moisturizer will provide a nice slip for your gua sha, face roller, or your hands, if you prefer it the old-fashioned way. Press and slide your chosen tool against your jawline, cheekbones, and neck
for some quick lymphatic drainage before putting on makeup or sunscreen.
