ZO Skin Health Self- Activating Vitamin C at Belo Beauty

By AGOO AZCUNA-BENGZON

WHAT IT IS: I've come across quite a number of vitamin C products because of the nature of my profession, and I must admit, this particular product from ZO is the best among the rest. First of all, it contains 10% ascorbic acid which means it is extremely efficient at minimizing the appearance of discolorations on your skin. It also contains Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or, in simpler terms, a stable vitamin C ester that helps to brighten  skin plus Tocopheryl acetate & coenzyme-Q10 which ensure that skin is armed with multiple antioxidant protection.

AGOO’S NOTES: I've been applying this diligently, paying special attention to a rather large age spot on my left cheek, and there has been significant fading already. I used to apply concealer on that spot every single day but nowadays, a simple dusting of loose powder does the trick. I think it's also worth pointing out that this product is the best-smelling one in my regimen. It literally smells like oranges, and this is actually why I like to end my regimen with this serum—the overall experience after using it can be likened to that of a spa treatment, thanks to its wonderful aromatherapy-like benefits.

I'm also a fan of its packaging since vitamin C is notorious for being highly unstable and loses potency quickly once it's exposed to air, light, and water, this air tight type of packaging that dispenses without exposing the rest of the product ensures that the formula is kept safe and will continue working for you.

EXPERT TIP: Apply your products in this order (thin to thick): cleanser, toner/essence, treatment/ mask, serum, eye cream, moisturiser, oil, SPF. Sunscreen always goes last, and the only thing that you should layer over sunscreen is powder, concealer or foundation. For this particular product though, because its consistency runs on the thick side, almost close to that of a moisturizer, I recommend applying it before your SPF for daytime, and as your last step at night.
