What many do not know...
Go To Post     What many do not know about Avon is that it’s been at the forefront of skincare innovation for a very long time—as in over 135 years. It was the first beauty company to use stabilized retinol in 1986; it also developed the first AHA cream for mass market consumption in 1990 and stabilized the first vitamin C serums in 1996. Now it’s come up with an exclusive skincare tech called Protinol, the star ingredient in this Anew Skin Reset Plumping Shots. I had no expectations when I tried this, being my first entry into #Avon skincare so imagine my astonishment when I woke up to truly supple skin on the first morning and saw visible transformation after a week’s use. The first thing I did after first use was look up ‘Protinol,’ which led me to a deluge of information on how revolutionary it is—what they called “one of the most exciting discoveries of the decade” at the brand’s Skincare Summit in NYC, and which is proven to work on one of the most important structural components of our skin: collagen. Protinol is clinically proven by independent studies to restore 2 main types of collagen, Collagen 1 (adult collagen) and Collagen 3 (baby collagen). This is a surprise to many researchers—including Dr. Ardeshir Bayat, principal investigator from the University of Manchester who independently studied Protinol—as such profound results in Collagen 3 production is a first in topical skincare. “Until now, only collagen 1 has been effectively restored via topical skincare, but without the matrix of ‘baby collagen,’ the impact is minimal. Protinol works to restore both collagen 1 and collagen 3, bringing them closer to that optimal ratio found in baby skin,” according to the brand. This set of single-use shots is the first product to contain potent #Protinol at the maximum concentration. I think the vials are perfect packaging, preserving the potency and integrity of its ingredients with every use. “7 years of collagen loss restored in just 7 days,” as the brand claims, sounds like a tall order, but at least it will really feel like that. Studies show that after 25, we lose about 1% of our skin’s collagen yearly. I’m just happy to find this monthly solution/prevention. ✨
